(QNgTV) - Approximately 50,000 motorcycle license plates and 10,000 car license plates will be auctioned on August 13th, according to information from a representative of the Vietnam Joint-Stock Auction Company (VPA).

The Vietnam Joint-Stock Auction Company announced that it will coordinate with the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) to organize an auction of vehicle license plates on August 13th. It is expected that approximately 50,000 motorcycle license plates and 10,000 car license plates will be auctioned in this session.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security, since the first license plate auction took place (September 15, 2023), the total amount of money paid into the State budget by winning bidders is over 5,200 billion VND.

The auction of car license plates is conducted openly and transparently; each individual can have someone else bid on their behalf using their own account, and there is no limit to the number of license plates each person can bid on.

The starting price for a car license plate offered at auction is 40 million VND, increasing every three years starting from January 1, 2025, by 5 million VND each time. The starting price for a motorcycle or scooter license plate offered at auction is 5 million VND, increasing every three years by 1 million VND each time.
