    Regarding population, according to the General Statistics Office in 2023, Ho Chi Minh City currently has 9.456 million people, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has 1.187 million people, Binh Duong has 2.823 million people. Thus, after the merger of these 3 localities, Ho Chi Minh City will have the largest population in the country, up to more than 13.6 million people.
