Bidding will be held to select investors for a 1,688 billion VND wind power project in Quang Tri

On April 25, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province announced that it had approved the investment policy of the Quang Tri Win 3 Wind Power Plant project. The project will select investors through bidding for projects using land.

The project is implemented in two communes: Tan Hop and Huc, Huong Hoa district with the operational goal of producing electricity from renewable energy; transmitting and distributing electricity.

The project has an expected capacity of 48 MW, the capacity of each wind turbine will be selected according to advanced technology. The main items of the project include wind turbine towers, internal roads, operating houses and other auxiliary works.

The land area used for the project is expected to be about 14.24 ha or less than 0.35 ha/MW. The land area used temporarily during the construction of the plant is expected to be about 5 ha or less than 0.3 ha/MW.

The total expected investment capital of the project is more than 1,688.5 billion VND, the project's operation period is 50 years, from the date of issuance of the investor approval decision.

The project is expected to be implemented within 22 months from the date of approval of the investor selection results according to the provisions of the law on bidding. The project is expected to start construction in the first quarter of 2026 (12 months after the approval of the investor selection results) and be completed and put into use in the first quarter of 2027.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, this project belongs to a special investment incentive sector, implemented in Huong Hoa district, an area with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, so it enjoys investment incentive policies prescribed by the Government on a number of related taxes.

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to perform the task of inviting interested parties and promptly prepare and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval the invitation documents to organize the determination of the number of investors interested in the project. Carry out the selection of investors to implement the project according to regulations. Monitor, urge and inspect the actual project, promptly advise on removing difficulties and obstacles to ensure the project's progress in accordance with regulations.

It is known that this project was proposed by the Consortium of Win Quang Tri Renewable Energy Investment Joint Stock Company and Win Power Holding PTE.LTD in February 2025.
