According to the Ministry of Education and Training , the 2025-2026 school year is the year with 10 key tasks identified, including innovating educational management according to the two-level local government model, strongly shifting from administrative management to development creation, promoting the initiative and creativity of localities and educational institutions, and strengthening post-inspection work of superior management agencies.
Regularly monitor, grasp the situation and promptly support local authorities at the commune level to effectively carry out state management work on education .
Effectively organize and implement the General Education Program, ensuring scientific and pedagogical quality; maximize the efficiency of using facilities and teaching equipment to help students achieve the requirements as prescribed by the program.

Effectively implement the instruction of teaching 2 sessions/day for general education institutions that meet the prescribed conditions.
Improve the effectiveness of teaching methods and forms, testing and assessment to develop students' qualities and capacities; promote and improve the quality of STEM/STEAM education, digital capacity development education, artificial intelligence (AI) education, career education, and student orientation after middle school and high school; improve the quality of foreign language teaching, especially English; prepare good conditions to ensure English becomes the second language in schools.
Continue to improve policies and regimes for teachers and educational managers to overcome shortcomings and inadequacies in the implementation process, ensuring sufficient quantity, reasonable structure, and consistent quality.
Focus on implementing the Law on Teachers and related legal documents guiding the implementation of laws, while fully preparing necessary conditions to synchronously implement policies when the Law on Teachers comes into effect, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education, serving the unified and synchronous management activities of local authorities at two levels.
Continue to implement the roadmap to improve the training standards of preschool, primary and secondary school teachers; focus on implementing training to improve management and teaching capacity to meet the requirements of professional standards for teachers at all preschool and general education levels, especially the capacity to apply digital technology and foreign language skills.
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training has also identified important contents as core tasks such as: innovation and improvement of education quality; ensuring equality in access to education for learners; developing a team of teachers and educational institution managers to meet innovation requirements; modernizing higher education and vocational education, creating breakthroughs in human resource training, especially high-quality human resources associated with scientific research and innovation; enhancing international integration in education and training.
The Ministry of Education and Training requests that Directors of Departments of Education and Training, based on the school year plan and the practical situation of the locality, advise the People's Committee and city to issue directive documents on key tasks and solutions for the 2025-2026 school year in the locality and organize implementation.
In addition, Directors of Departments of Education and Training reported to the Ministry of Education and Training on the preparation for the school year and the organization of the upcoming opening ceremony of the new school year.
