In recent days, media and social networks have posted images of tourist business stalls (kiosks) in the East Sea Park area and the south of My Hanh Restaurant (in Phuoc My ward, Son Tra district) still operating normally right after the notice board "Temporarily suspending business activities at food and souvenir stalls until further notice" by the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches.

Regarding the incident, on the afternoon of October 10, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches said that the notice of temporary suspension of business operations of pilot tourism kiosks in the East Sea Park area and the south of My Hanh Restaurant (in Phuoc My ward, Son Tra district) was implemented by this agency based on the document (No. 2402/UBND - SDL dated May 8, 2024) of the People's Committee of Da Nang City on ending the pilot operations of food and souvenir stalls (which were allowed to be piloted by the People's Committee of the city in 2011, 2012, 2013) to organize auctions and leases in accordance with regulations.

Business activities of the pilot food and souvenir stalls in the East Sea Park area, south of My Hanh restaurant in Phuoc My ward, Son Tra district, took place normally on the morning of October 10. Clip: Thanh Tung.

On October 2 and 3, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches invited representatives of relevant agencies to conduct a site inspection. By October 4, 3 stalls had agreed to stop operating, while the remaining 7 stalls had not yet complied with the city's policy.

In the coming time, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches will continue to coordinate with localities, mobilize and request businesses and individuals operating food and souvenir stalls to stop business activities and hand over the premises to organize auctions for leasing premises in accordance with the provisions of law.

In case businesses and individuals still do not comply with the policy, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches will report to the Department of Tourism and propose the City People's Committee to assign competent authorities to organize enforcement of demolition...

According to information from the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, from March 2012 to March 2013, to encourage the development of tourism services in some beach areas serving residents and tourists, the City People's Committee agreed to pilot the implementation of 10 food and souvenir stalls in the East Sea Park area and the South of My Hanh Restaurant in Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District.

After the city's policy, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches handed over the premises to individuals and businesses that registered to participate in the pilot project to design and install booths and carry out business activities.

Pilot enterprises and individuals are exempted from using business premises, each booth is 75m2 for more than 12 years (from March 2012 to September 2024).

Organizations and individuals participating in the pilot of 10 food and souvenir stalls have also signed a commitment with the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches to self-dismantle the stalls and hand over the premises within 30 days from the date of receiving the notice of the Management Board (if the People's Committee of Da Nang City has a document to reclaim the premises or move to another location ...)

According to the owners of the pilot business households, the reason they did not dismantle and hand over the premises is because they have actually invested a lot of money and effort here and have been doing stable business, accompanying the city in building a tourist destination for over 12 years. The households’ wish is to continue doing business at the kiosks they have invested in.

According to the reporter's records on the morning of October 10, business activities at the pilot kiosks in the East Sea Park area were still going on normally behind the sign "temporarily closed for business...", in front of the checkpoint there were staff from the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and tourist beaches. This caused confusion for many tourists, becoming the focus of social networks with mixed opinions.
