Currently, tourists and out-of-towners coming to Seoul still use the T-money card which can be loaded with money to use when taking public transportation.
The subway sells single-ride tickets, but buyers have to pay in cash when purchasing tickets, and the process of refunding the advance card after use is inconvenient for users.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said the Climate Card complex transportation card project was inspired by successful systems in advanced countries, aiming to improve convenience for tourists.
The issuance of the card will reduce the inconveniences related to transportation and reduce the burden of public transportation costs, making public transportation more accessible and convenient for travelers.
