The 2025-2026 season will open with the National Super Cup match between Hanoi Police Club (CAHN Club) and Nam Dinh Club, taking place at Thien Truong Stadium at 6:00 p.m. on August 9. Notably, the match will have the presence of FIFA officials. This is considered an honor for Vietnam's professional football field.

Specifically, Mr. Moorghen Bhaveshan - Senior Director of Football Technology Strategy, representing FIFA, will attend the match at Thien Truong Stadium. VAR is also expected to be applied, contributing to improving the professionalism, transparency and fairness of the top competition between the two champions.

Nam Dinh FC entered the National Super Cup as the reigning V-League champions. Coach Vu Hong Viet and his team overcame many strong opponents such as Hanoi FC, CAHN FC, The Cong Viettel ... to defend their throne. This success shows the collective strength and long-term competitive spirit of Nam Dinh FC, in the context of the main striker Nguyen Xuan Son being injured.

Meanwhile, CAHN Club is the reigning National Cup champion. Coach Alexandre Polking's team won the National Cup for the first time after defeating Ha Tinh , Hai Phong, The Cong Viettel and SLNA on the way to the championship. In addition to the National Cup title, CAHN Club also finished second in the ASEAN Club Championship and won the bronze medal in the V-League last season.

This is the first time CAHN Club meets Nam Dinh in the National Super Cup. The common point of the two teams is that they have participated in 2 National Super Cup matches in the last 2 seasons, both against Thanh Hoa. While CAHN Club lost 1-3 to Thanh Hoa in the 2023 Super Cup match, Nam Dinh won 3-0 against the Thanh team in the 2023 - 2024 Super Cup.

In addition to FPT Play being the only unit producing the live broadcast program, other TV stations that need information about the Super Cup match are all given maximum working conditions under the general management of the match organizing committee.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Duc, Deputy Head of VPF Competition Organization, announced the regulations: At the National Super Cup, each team must register a minimum of 18 players and a maximum of 30 players. Of which, there must be a minimum of 18 professional players, 3 goalkeepers, 2 foreign players of Vietnamese origin, 1 Vietnamese player of foreign origin, and 7 foreign players. In the list of 11 players, each team can use a maximum of 3 foreign players, a maximum of 2 foreign players of Vietnamese origin, and 1 Vietnamese player of foreign origin.

The winning team of the National Super Cup will receive 300 million VND in prize money. The participating team will receive 200 million VND. The first goal scorer and the best player of the match will receive 10 million VND.
