Sky Sports reported that despite Newcastle offering a higher salary, Sesko still decided to refuse and chose to join the Old Trafford team. Sesko's representative company, headed by Elvis Basanovic, also agreed to reduce commission to ensure the deal with MU went smoothly.
Shortly after journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that MU and Leipzig had agreed on a fee, Sesko immediately flew to Manchester to complete the transfer. A photo shared by Romano shows Sesko looking delighted to join his new team.
According to sources in the UK, in the transfer agreement, MU and Leipzig will organize a friendly match in Germany, expected to bring in about 1.5 to 2 million euros for the Bundesliga club. In addition, it is possible that Leipzig also includes a clause to receive a percentage of the transfer fee if MU sells Sesko to another club.
Sesko will undergo a medical before officially signing for MU. It is reported that the "Red Devils" will introduce the new contract right before the friendly match with Fiorentina on August 9.
On August 7, MU reached an agreement to recruit Sesko with a contract worth 85 million euros, including 8.5 million euros in additional fees. This is the "Red Devils" most expensive deal since the beginning of this summer.
