Alma Cooper (22 years old), currently an army officer with a master's degree in data science from Stanford University, surpassed 50 other contestants in the Miss USA pageant, with swimsuit, evening gown and interview rounds to win the highest title. Connor Perry from Kentucky and Danika Christopherson from Oklahoma were named first and second runners-up, respectively.

"As the daughter of an immigrant worker and an officer in the military, I am living the American dream," Alma Cooper told the judges and audience during the Q&A portion of the Miss America pageant finale. "If there is anything life and my mother have taught me, it is that your circumstances never determine your destiny. You can achieve success through hard work and excellence," the reigning beauty queen added.
Cooper was crowned on stage by Miss Hawaii Savannah Gankiewicz, who will take over in May 2024 after Noelia Voigt of Utah controversially relinquished her title.
The event capped off three months of turmoil for Miss USA pageant organizers following the surprise resignations of Voigt and reigning Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava of New Jersey following disagreements with organizers.
Addie Carver (17 years old) from Mississippi was named Miss Teen USA 2024.
The Miss USA 2024 pageant will be televised live, hosted by Garcelle Beauvais from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and hosted by E! News' Keltie Knight. The pageant returns to California this year, where it has been held since 2007.
The judging panel included shoe designer Jojo Bragais, former Miss USA Carole Gist and journalist Lu Parker. The finals took place over three days. Previously, 17-year-old Addie Carver from Mississippi was named Miss Teen USA 2024.
After winning the Miss USA crown, Alma Cooper will continue to participate in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant held in Mexico later this year.
