Many speculations suggest that the presence of the Denza Z9GT may be intended to serve an internal event or technology display of BYD in the near future. Denza Z9GT is an electric car in the high-end GT (Grand Tourer) segment, developed in shooting brake style - a combination of coupe and station wagon.
The car has dimensions of length x width x height of 5,180 x 1,990 x 1,500 mm and a wheelbase of 3,125 mm. With these parameters, the Z9GT is superior in both length and width compared to the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo - one of the direct competitors that this Chinese electric car is aiming for. In terms of design, the front of the Denza Z9GT stands out with dual horizontal LED lights, combined with strong cuts running along the body, creating a sporty and modern appearance. The interior of the Denza Z9GT inherits many details from other high-end BYD models such as Seal and Han, typically the crystal gear lever and the central area with integrated wireless charging pad.
The cabin space is dominated by pink-beige colors, giving a luxurious feel. Digital screens are densely arranged following the interior technology trend that is popular in the Chinese car industry. Powering the Z9GT are three electric motors for a total output of up to 950 horsepower and 710 Nm of torque. The car is capable of accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. Powering the system is a 100 kWh battery pack, allowing the electric GT to travel approximately 630 km on a full charge.
In the Chinese market, the Denza Z9GT is expected to be sold from the fourth quarter of this year with a starting price ranging from 47,900 - 59,200 USD (equivalent to about 1.24 - 1.53 billion VND). Currently, the specific purpose of bringing the Z9GT to Vietnam has not been announced by BYD. However, it is likely that this is part of a product marketing and technology demonstration strategy, similar to what the company did with the Yangwang U8 pure electric SUV before.
