Duy Tan University students win SAP ERPsim Competition 2025 world championship

Duy Tan University students have marked an important milestone in their journey to international stature when they officially became World Champions in the ERPsim International Competition 2025 on June 5, 2025. This is the first time a Vietnamese team has achieved the highest ranking in this prestigious world arena.

The final round of this year's ERPsim International Competition has the participation of 15 strongest teams from: United States, Finland, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Chile, China, Vietnam and Philippines. Vietnam has 2 representatives participating:

• Dongry Corporation Team of Duy Tan University - Champion of SAP ERPsim Student Competition 2025 - APJ Cup Asia - Pacific region, and

• Hanoi University of Science and Technology team.

This is an international playground for business management talents from the world's leading universities, jointly organized by SAP University Alliances (of SAP - the world's leading company in business management and manufacturing solutions) and HEC Montréal.

Duy Tan University's Dongry Corporation Team Wins World Championship at ERPsim International Competition 2025

Organizing an online competition, the teams participate in a simulation of sustainable manufacturing business management on the SAP S/4HANA platform with evaluation criteria, including:

• Financial Performance,

• Production - Distribution Strategy, and

• Carbon Emission Management Capability.

Teams went through 4 rounds of competition to manage a company that produces and distributes breakfast cereals (Muesli) with 12 different product lines. From zero:

• no inventory, and

• no supply chain

The teams had to build their own entire business operations - from strategic planning, procurement, manufacturing, product formulation development to accounting, finance, logistics, distribution and sales. Throughout the competition, the teams had to deal with random disruptions and solve the problem of “carbon emissions”.

Dongry Corporation team of Duy Tan University was recognized by the Jury for its outstanding performance in not only overcoming financial and operational challenges but also demonstrating its ability to innovate in developing a sustainable growth strategy, helping the business achieve a balance between economic benefits and environmental responsibility.

The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the best teams, specifically:

1. First Prize - World Champion: Duy Tan University, Vietnam,

3. Third Prize: Central University of Finance and Economics, China,

4. Wednesday: Oulu School of Management, Finland,

5. Thursday: JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland,

6. Friday: University of Sherbrooke, Canada,

7. Saturday: Nanjing Auditing University, China,

8. Wednesday: Missouri University of Science & Technology, USA,

9. 9th: University of the Cordilleras, Philippines,

10. 10th: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam.

COO Nguyen Duy Vu - Coordinator of the team's activities shared: "ERPsim is not only a competition but also a real playground for students who are passionate about economics and technology. We get to experience the roles of department directors in a Muesli Cereal Production Company, where every decision affects the survival of the business. From the competition, we learn how to think strategically, from Financial Management, Marketing, Production to Profit optimization and Carbon Emission control.

Winning this year’s competition not only demonstrates the ability and bravery of Duy Tan University students, but also proves that Vietnamese students are completely capable of conquering international playgrounds. I am proud to represent Vietnam and Duy Tan University in such a prestigious competition, and will continue to pursue higher goals on the journey to conquer knowledge in the future.”

Directly accompanying the Duy Tan University team to participate in the ERPsim International Competition 2025, MSc. Nguyen Minh Nhat - Deputy Dean of the Nam Khue Faculty of Management (SMi), Director of the Business Intelligence Center (BIC) said: “The ERPsim 2025 Competition truly affirms its stature and prestige when gathering teams from the world's leading universities, representing advanced education systems such as the United States, Canada, Finland, China and many other countries. The Duy Tan University team has had an impressive journey, from National Champion to Asia-Pacific Champion to excellently surpassing 14 strong opponents to win the World Championship (surpassing the 2024 World Champion team from China).

From the Top 4 position in Round 1, the team persistently broke through to the Top 3, Top 2 in the following rounds, and finally made a spectacular 'acceleration' in Round 4 to win the Championship. This victory is a strong proof that with the right educational strategy and the spirit of learning, innovation and creativity, Vietnamese students, especially Duy Tan University students, are fully capable of conquering the peaks of knowledge and technology, making their mark of success in the world's largest intellectual 'arenas'."

BIC Lab (Business Intelligence) at Duy Tan University

The Business Intelligence Center (BIC) at Duy Tan University was established in 2019 to deploy advanced business management systems into teaching and research. The Center always organizes many in-depth workshops and seminars, and promotes cooperation with local and international businesses to update the latest technical trends for practical application in business management. BIC is the organizer of Duy Tan University's annual ERPSim competition - an intellectual and creative playground that attracts students studying different majors to participate. This is a rare opportunity for students to equip themselves with solid knowledge, develop strategic thinking and teamwork skills, thereby preparing them for career development in the Digital Age.
