On March 15, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health sent a document to local hospitals, directing treatment for patients suspected of being poisoned by chicken rice towards infection and gastrointestinal poisoning caused by the Salmonella group.

Previously, a private hospital in Nha Trang city cultured the stool of two children with food poisoning suspected to be caused by eating chicken rice, and the results showed positive for Salmonella bacteria.
Identifying the causative agent will help hospitals choose appropriate antibiotics and treatment methods.
Also according to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health, on March 15, medical facilities continued to record more than 100 more cases of food poisoning, suspected to be caused by eating chicken rice, bringing the total number of patients related to the incident to 345 cases.
Of which, the total number of hospitalized cases is 239; the number of cases prescribed for outpatient monitoring: 103; the number of cases discharged on the day is 38. Currently, there are 201 cases under treatment.
Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health requests medical examination and treatment facilities in the province to be ready to receive and treat new cases related to the above chicken rice poisoning incident, if any; at the same time, proactively monitor closely the cases being treated inpatients and outpatients at the unit.
When there is an unusual or severe case, the Department of Health requires timely professional consultation with the Provincial General Hospital to provide the most optimal treatment solution for the patient, avoiding delay so that the patient becomes seriously ill, beyond the professional capacity of the unit.
As Dan Tri reported, on March 13, many people were hospitalized in hospitals in Nha Trang city with symptoms of vomiting, fever, and abdominal pain.

On the morning of March 13, the chicken rice restaurant mentioned above was temporarily suspended to serve the investigation.
According to statistics from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health, there were 222 cases of patients who had to be examined and treated at the hospital with symptoms of fever, stomachache, and fatigue. These people all ate food at the TA chicken rice restaurant.
Doctor Trinh Ngoc Hiep, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Province Department of Health, said that the health of the patients related to the poisoning incident has gradually stabilized.
On March 15, the Food Safety Department ( Ministry of Health ) issued an official dispatch, requesting the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health to focus resources on actively treating patients poisoned by chicken rice in Nha Trang and investigating the cause of the poisoning.
