This is one of the positive moves to implement the results achieved after the working trip of the Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Long An province - Nguyen Van Duoc to France, Belgium and Germany in early November 2024.

Attending the reception and working session with the business delegation were leaders of the Department of Construction, Department of Transport and the districts of Can Duoc, Can Giuoc, Tan Tru and Chau Thanh, which are localities related to the Provincial Road 827E project.

Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Long An province - Truong Van Liep shared, Provincial Road 827E Long An is planned to pass through 4 districts with a length of about 35km, the starting point borders Ho Chi Minh City and the end point borders Tien Giang province. Provincial Road 827E is planned to have 12 lanes (the section from Ho Chi Minh City border to National Highway 50 with 6 lanes).

This is a route planned on an inter-regional scale. Long An's idea is to plan on an inter-regional scale, harmoniously developing between urban and rural areas, requiring large investors with consulting experience to carry out detailed planning along both sides of this route.

Provincial Road 827E is one of the 6 dynamic axes of the province, connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang, the longest section through Long An province, connecting with Tien Giang province in Chau Thanh district, through Tan Tru, Can Duoc and Can Giuoc before extending to Ho Chi Minh City.

Long An expects that, after completion, the project will create a breakthrough in traffic infrastructure for the districts of Chau Thanh, Tan Tru, Can Duoc and Can Giuoc as well as the province, meeting development needs, especially in attracting investment, developing industry - trade - services. At the same time, the project is expected not only for Long An but also for the whole Southwest region in socio-economic development.

The Department of Transport also informed that the progress of the route is as follows. The project is expected to have 3 bridges built using ODA loans. The Prime Minister has approved the project proposal. The Provincial People's Committee is submitting to the Prime Minister for approval the feasibility study report. It is expected that the project will be approved in the third quarter of 2025 and the loan agreement will be negotiated in the first quarter of 2026.

In addition, there is a project to clear the land and invest in building access roads to bridges to connect with provincial and national highways using local budget capital. The Provincial People's Committee is completing the technical research report for approval in December 2024, and is expected to start construction in the third quarter of 2025.

With these ideas, Long An hopes that Sweco Group will propose planning ideas to the province as soon as possible to keep up with the progress of planning work, especially in Can Giuoc district. At the same time, after participating in detailed planning consultancy, with great experience in the design consultancy industry, Sweco will continue to accompany and create favorable conditions to support the province in attracting foreign investment in industrial parks and clusters along both sides of this route./.
