According to the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense , in 2025, 17 academies and officer schools will enroll more than 4,200 students at the military university level, and 4 officer schools and colleges will enroll 150 students at the college level. The Air Force Officer School alone will enroll students at both university and college levels.
After the preliminary selection, the total number of qualified applications to 20 military schools was 33,205 (an increase of 42% compared to 2024).
Of which, the number of applications for the preliminary selection to the Political Officer School is the highest, more than 6,700 applications, Military Technical Academy (nearly 5,000 applications), Border Guard Academy (more than 3,500 applications), Military Medical Academy (more than 3,200 applications).

Military schools will use three admission methods, including:
Method 1: Direct admission, priority given to candidates who have won national and international awards according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of National Defense.
Method 2: Consider the competency assessment test scores organized by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025.
Method 3: Consider the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Thus, compared to last year, this year, the military school block has stopped considering admission based on academic records.
According to the announcement, the school will convert admission scores for candidates with IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 55 points or higher. The Military Science Academy will convert scores for candidates with Russian language certificates TRKI-2 or higher, Chinese language certificates HSK-4 or higher.
Candidates who have just taken the Foreign Language graduation exam and have a conversion certificate will use the option with the higher score.
The Ministry of National Defense also announced that candidates will be given 2.25-3 bonus points if they meet the conditions for direct admission and priority admission, but will not use them and instead register for consideration based on exam results.
High school graduates in 2025 with excellent academic performance and good conduct for 3 years will receive 0.5-2 bonus points if they meet one of the following criteria: Winning first, second, or third prizes in provincial-level excellent student competitions; having IELTS 5.5 or equivalent (the Military Science Academy adds points for foreign language certificates for some majors); SAT score from 1,068/1,600 or ACT 18 or higher.
Candidates who are eligible for multiple incentive points will only receive the highest incentive point.
Regarding the admission score scale, schools agree to use a 30-point scale in all methods.
Candidates applying for the military system of military schools must put their wish to enter a military school in their first wish. The following wishes can be applied to the civilian system or to fields and schools outside the military system.
In addition to the military system, 10 facilities will train university-level civilian students, recruiting 3,500 students. Military schools recruit students similarly to other universities; students can register directly for admission to the schools without going through a preliminary selection.
