Previously, NHQ was transferred by his family to Soc Trang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital in a state of crying a lot, abdominal pain, fever and vomiting. Here, doctors examined, performed ultrasound and tests and found that Q's appendix was inflamed, so doctors performed emergency surgery.

During the surgery, doctors removed a foreign object about 4cm in size, suspected to be a fish bone that had pierced the cecum. After the successful surgery, Q's health has stabilized.

Doctors at the Soc Trang Province Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital recommend that relatives carefully remove fish bones before feeding their children. In case of an unfortunate event of a child choking on a foreign object, the family must immediately take the child to the nearest medical facility and not treat it with folk remedies to avoid unfortunate situations.
