Excitement builds for the 2024 Phan Thiet Open Cycling Race.

On the morning of April 14th, the 2024 Phan Thiet City Open Cycling Race, organized by the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City, opened at Vo Van Kiet Park. The race aims to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the liberation of Phan Thiet - Binh Thuan (April 19, 1975 - April 19, 2024) and the 49th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024).

Mr. Nguyen Nam Long, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City, delivered the opening speech.

  The event was attended by over 100 athletes (male and female) who are members of the Binh Thuan Cycling Federation, cycling clubs, cycling enthusiasts in the city; and cycling clubs from departments, agencies, companies, and businesses in the province .

The competition uses road racing bikes; time trial bikes are not permitted, and time trial bike handlebars/cushions are not allowed on the competition bikes.

Athlete Nguyen Thi Bich Hanh finished first in the women's 25km race.

In the women's event, starting on Vo Van Kiet Street with a 25km route (5 closed laps) - finishing in front of Vo Van Kiet Park. This was also the event where athlete Nguyen Thi Bich Hanh (Khang Thinh Club) finished first with a time of 37'46.86".

The men's 50km race included two age groups: 18-40 and 41-60 years old. First place in the 18-40 age group went to Nguyen Van The (Ham Thuan Bac Cycling Club), second place to Dang Thanh Huy (Ham Thuan Nam Cycling Club), and third place to Le Tran Nguyen Tuyen (Khang Thinh Cycling Club). In the team competition, first place went to Khang Thinh Cycling Club, second place to Phong Nam commune, and third place to Ham Thuan Nam Cycling Club.

In the 41-60 age group, first place went to the familiar name Dang Van Quang (Phan Thiet Cycling Club), second place to athlete Dang Cao Tri (Phan Thiet Cycling Club), and third place to Nguyen Xuan Phuoc (Phan Thiet Green Journey). Additionally, first place in the team competition for this age group went to Phan Thiet Cycling Club, second place to Khang Thinh Cycling Club, and third place to Bao Thinh Cycling Club.
