Son La starts construction to welcome the Provincial Party Congress

(sonla.gov.vn) On August 16, 2025, Mavin Group broke ground on the Mavin Mai Son animal feed and agricultural processing factory complex. This is a project to welcome the 16th Son La Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. Attending the event were comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Vi Duc Tho, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

The project is built in Mai Son Industrial Park (Chieng Mung Commune, Son La Province) invested by Mavin Mai Son Company Limited, with a total capital of 350 billion VND. The project has a total area of over 10.9 hectares, including 2 items: a factory producing animal and poultry feed with a capacity of 200,000 tons/year; and an agricultural product processing factory (corn, cassava...) with a capacity of 300,000 tons/year. It is expected to bring products to the market and serve customers from 2026.

The project is expected to contribute to increasing the value of local agricultural products through deep processing; creating more stable jobs for local workers; increasing budget revenue and applying modern processing technology to production, towards international standards.

Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mavin Group, shared: Son La is a province with a large agricultural land area, diverse climate, favorable for the development of livestock, poultry and aquaculture. In recent years, the province's livestock output has increased steadily, especially cattle, pigs, poultry and corn and cassava raw material areas for animal feed processing. However, the major limitation is that the added value is not high, because most of the products are still in raw form, unprocessed or processed on a small scale.

Therefore, the implementation of the project is also the beginning of Mavin Group's investment journey in the Northwest region, aiming to close the value chain in livestock farming, aiming to build Son La into a livestock farming center of the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong , Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee affirmed: The project will form a stable production chain between people - cooperatives - enterprises, helping Son La achieve economic growth, creating a new step of development in agriculture.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Mavin Group and Mavin Mai Son Company Limited to continue researching, expanding investment and production so that Son La can develop further. The province is committed to supporting and creating favorable conditions for investors to properly implement investment policies and investment roadmaps to soon complete and put the project into operation. Bringing Son La to green, fast and sustainable development, successfully implementing the targets set out in the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress.
