Son La starts construction of Provincial Road 107C Project, connecting Son La and Lai Chau provinces

(sonla.gov.vn) On the morning of July 29, 2025, in Muong Chien commune, the People's Committee of Son La province solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Provincial Road 107C Project, from Muong Chien commune, Son La province to Nam So commune, Lai Chau province. Attending the ceremony were comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of provincial departments and branches; leaders of Nam So commune, communes in Quynh Nhai area and representatives of consulting units and construction contractors.

Groundbreaking ceremony of Provincial Road 107C Project.

Route 107C is invested and constructed according to the standards of grade V mountainous roads (TCVN 4054-2005), with a total length of 21km, of which the first 8.9km of the route is renovated and upgraded and the last 12.1km of the route is newly opened. The project has a total investment of 245 billion VND, with a 6.5m wide roadbed, a 3.5m wide road surface, a 3-layer asphalt-paved gravel structure 3.5cm thick, along with a system of sewers, retaining walls and items to ensure traffic safety. The completed route will create a traffic axis connecting the two provinces of Son La and Lai Chau, promoting trade of goods, developing tourism in the Son La Hydropower Reservoir, forming a concentrated raw material area, supporting the completion of the criteria for building new rural areas. This is also a project to welcome the 16th Son La Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: To ensure the progress and quality of construction, it is requested that relevant units resolutely carry out site clearance work, closely follow the direction and manage investment capital in accordance with regulations. At the same time, it is requested that contractors and supervision consultants clearly identify this as a key project of the province, requiring serious construction, mobilizing human resources and modern equipment so that the project can be completed soon, meeting the expectations of the people.

The groundbreaking of Provincial Road 107C Project is also one of the important milestones in the process of regional socio -economic development, contributing to realizing the orientation of transport infrastructure development according to the Son La Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1676/QD-TTg dated December 25, 2023.
