The "Green Forest" initiative, launched by the Center for Human and Nature in 2022, aims to restore 500 hectares of natural forest connecting Mai Chau (Phu Tho) and Van Ho (Son La) over a 10-year period (2022-2032). This forest strip is considered a vital "green lung" of the Northwest region, home to the rare white-cheeked gibbon and many other endemic flora and fauna. However, due to the pressures of exploitation and economic development, the natural ecosystems here are facing numerous challenges and are being severely impacted. From 2022 to 2025, with the joint efforts of businesses, organizations, and the community, the Center for Human and Nature has planted over 180,000 trees, greening more than 300 hectares of forest land.

The "Green Forest 2026" event attracted over 200 participants, including staff from the General Services Center, forest rangers, various units and businesses, and local residents. The participants planted 10 hectares of forest with over 6,000 native tree species, including bamboo, black ebony, flowering cypress, ironwood, and mahogany. Funding was provided by various units and businesses.

The activity was organized to restore forests, reduce the risk of landslides, and protect habitats for wildlife, contributing to biodiversity conservation and the development of Vietnam's natural resources.
