At supermarkets, the number of shoppers has increased significantly, especially on weekends. Despite entering the peak shopping season, this year's Tet market has not seen any shortages or sudden price increases. Retail systems have proactively prepared supplies early, contributing to maintaining price stability.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the market situation and supply plan for goods during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 are stable. The supply of goods in the area is abundant and diverse, ensuring that people's shopping needs are met at stable prices. Smooth transportation facilitates the movement of goods to rural and mountainous areas. Besides traditional shopping channels such as markets and supermarkets, the trend of online consumption through e-commerce platforms is also developing strongly.
The Department of Industry and Trade forecasts that consumer demand during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday in 2026 will increase by approximately 5-10% compared to the same period last year and by 10-20% compared to normal days. Purchasing power is expected to increase by 20-50%. However, with large reserves of goods held by the public and businesses, a shortage of essential food items is unlikely. To ensure price stability, Quang Ngai has mobilized 13 businesses to participate in the market stabilization program, including 6 supermarkets and 2 manufacturing enterprises. The total value of goods in reserve is over 134.2 billion VND.
With the proactive efforts of state management agencies and the responsible spirit of businesses and small traders, the year-end goods market in the province is expected to be stable, with abundant supply, meeting the consumption needs of the people, contributing to ensuring social welfare and creating a safe and healthy shopping atmosphere during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.
