Sun PhuQuoc Airways is a natural extension of the high-end resort - entertainment - service ecosystem that Sun Group has created in Phu Quoc.

The Sun PhuQuoc Airways brand (abbreviated as SPA) aims at a high-end resort aviation model, combining traditional services and charter flights, placing Phu Quoc as the center of the network. From the Pearl Island, the airline will connect with major domestic cities such as Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and expand internationally with destinations in Japan, Korea, China and a series of potential markets in Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Central Asia.

Right from its name, Sun PhuQuoc Airways clearly shows its mission: Bringing tourists closer to Phu Quoc - a destination voted by Travel & Leisure as "the second most beautiful island in the world after Maldives". At the same time, the airline also connects Phu Quoc to the world through a "hub and spoke" flight network model with the Pearl Island as the center.

A Sun Group representative said that the period from March to December 2025 is the time to prepare for investment, complete human resources, technical systems and legal procedures. If all goes well, the airline will open ticket sales at the end of October 2025 and conduct the first commercial flight shortly thereafter.

In the initial phase, the airline will use narrow-body Airbus A320, A321, especially the A321neo - a fuel-efficient aircraft model, allowing for continuous flights of more than 7,000 km, suitable for medium-haul international routes. In parallel, the airline is also in the process of negotiating with Boeing to expand its fleet.

With its operational center located at Van Don International Airport (Quang Ninh), SPA is expected to not only relieve pressure on air transport but also act as an "air gateway" to welcome international events, typically the APEC Forum 2027 scheduled to be held in Phu Quoc.

Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group, shared: "Sun PhuQuoc Airways is not just an airline, but a natural extension of the resort - entertainment - high-class service ecosystem that we are creating in Phu Quoc. Each flight is not simply a journey, but the place where the vacation begins, where Vietnamese identity and international standard service go together."

The birth of Sun PhuQuoc Airways takes place in the context of Vietnam's aviation industry restructuring after the pandemic, anticipating a new wave of movement from high-end tourists and personalizing experiences.

In the Sun Group ecosystem in Phu Quoc, SPA will play a central role in connecting passengers with a chain of hotels, resorts, entertainment complexes, cuisine and large-scale shows - creating a seamless experience from the sky to the ground.
