“I have won many awards for the contest in and outside the province, including first prize many times, but this is the first time I have won a prize for the topic of Uncle Ho, so I was quite surprised. When I received the notice from the Organizing Committee, I had mixed emotions because I knew that there were many seniors participating in the contest with me... I participated in the contest on this topic partly because I respected Uncle Ho and wanted to test myself,” said Mr. Thinh.

2. For author Tran Thinh, he came to the genre of ĐCTT as a fate and "reaped" many awards. Many music lovers love his compositions because of the close, easy-to-touch lyrics. Although the art field is only his “side job”, the passion for composing always burns in his heart. For him, when composing a work on a certain topic, he must write with his true feelings and life experiences, especially composing about the topic of Ho Chi Minh. “The vọng cổ songs I wrote before were about love between couples, love for the homeland, country,... It took Mr. Thinh about 2-3 months to compose the vọng cổ song about Uncle Ho from the time he conceived it to completion. When composing, he always puts his feelings and heart into this "brainchild", so when he finishes writing, he has to wait for a while for his emotions to settle down and then read it over and over again. "I have the advantage of knowing how to sing vọng cổ, so after finishing writing, I sing it and record it myself to listen to. Then after class, when I feel inspired, I open it again to edit the words to make it more complete. The work I write, print out, and read the text is one thing, but when I sing, I can fully feel the mood in it" - Mr. Thinh shared. Composing about the theme of Uncle Ho, in addition to the A-prize winning work mentioned above, author Tran Thinh also has a vọng cổ song that is quite satisfying called "Bringing Mother Back to the Capital".
Mr. Thinh confided that he composed vọng cổ songs with passion to express his thoughts and feelings. The greatest happiness for him is when his works are accepted and listened to by everyone. The awards he has won are the motivation for him to continue composing according to his emotions, especially the theme of President Ho Chi Minh./.
