Introduction: Every year on the occasion of Bunpimay, the traditional Lao New Year according to the Buddhist calendar, the Cau Treo - Buon Don tourist center coordinates with the People's Committee of Buon Don district, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association, to organize ceremonies to celebrate Punpimay, at the Island Village of the Cau Treo - Buon Don tourist center. Punpimay Festival takes place continuously for 03 days, from April 14 to April 16 (solar calendar) every year. The festival has many attractive cultural and tourist activities imbued with the identity of the traditional Lao New Year, such as the New Year's worship ceremony, praying for health, Buddha bathing ceremony, sand making ceremony, lucky hand-tying ceremony, releasing flower lanterns, water splashing festival, Lam Vong and Lam Toi dance. Thereby contributing to helping Vietnamese people of Lao origin remember their roots and preserve their national cultural identity, while fostering the special friendship between the people of Vietnam and Laos, the Bunpimay Festival in Buon Don is a cultural event and a new tourist highlight of Dak Lak province and the Central Highlands.
