Re-enactment of the classic cai luong play "By the Silk Weaving Bridge"

On the afternoon of December 4, Tran Huu Trang Opera House organized a rehearsal performance of the opera Ben Cau Det Lua (playwright: The Chau, director: People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau) .

The original Cai Luong play was based on the story of Tran Minh wearing a banana loincloth in a Vietnamese folk tale. In the 1960s, playwright Thanh Cao used this plot to compose a play on the Tieng Chuong stage. Playwrights Ha Trieu and Hoa Phuong also used this plot to compose a play titled Quan Gam Dau Lang . In 1976, the most famous version was the work Ben Cau Det Lua by playwright The Chau, staged and performed by the Thanh Minh Cai Luong troupe.

The classic production of Ben Cau Det Lua nearly 50 years ago gathered many talented actors who had won the Thanh Tam award. The talented cast participating in the play at that time included artists Thanh Nga, Thanh Sang, Hung Minh, Bao Quoc, Thanh Tu, Ngoc Nuoi, Kim Huong, Van Nga, Chi Hieu... together creating a classic cai luong stage work that has touched the hearts of many generations.

Until now, when mentioning the Cai Luong play Ben Cau Det Lua , the audience still remembers the fairy tale love story of Miss Quynh Nga and the poor boy Tran Minh. The talent of the young actors and the story's humane content have conquered many generations of fans, promoting the value of loyalty and humanity in life.

In the 2023 version, director Tran Ngoc Giau and artists of Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theater have made efforts to re-enact the classic Cai Luong play of traditional theater, in order to contribute to promoting and spreading the value of classic theatrical works in modern life, so that theatrical works can reach closer to today's audiences, especially young audiences. The new version features performances by artists Thy Phuong, Kim Luan, Vo Thanh Phe, Nguyen Van Khoi, Minh Hoang, Phung Ngoc Bay, Hoai Nam, Thanh Dong, Hoang Minh Vuong, Tat Dao, My Linh, Kim Thuy...
