From early morning, the people of Kha village, Sap Vat commune gathered in the sacred forest of the village to prepare for the Dong Sua worship ceremony. According to the locals, this ceremony has existed for a long time, since the time of their ancestors. Mr. QUANG VAN PHANH - Shaman of Kha village, Sap Vat, Yen Chau, Son La : The ceremony does not need to be prepared too elaborately, just need 1 duck, 3 chickens, 1 pig, 1 bottle of wine, 1 package of rice, each household in the village prepares the offerings together for the ceremony.
The Dong Sua ritual means worshiping the sacred forest. In the ritual, there are two worshiping ceremonies, one worshiping the gods, the people who founded the village and one worshiping the forest owner. The ritual is vividly recreated, but still imbued with folk beliefs, expressing the long-standing cultural and religious life of the Thai ethnic people.
