As a result, the 4-seat car was crushed by the two trucks.

After the accident, local people and authorities gathered to use many measures to get the people in the 4-seater car out. At this time, 3 out of 4 people sitting in the 4-seater car died at the scene, including: Assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh (48 years old, Deputy Director, Deputy Coach of Team 1), foreign player Paollo Oliveira (27 years old, Brazilian) and doctor Dao Trong Tri (31 years old); the driver was taken to the emergency room in a serious state of injury.

Previously, on the afternoon of August 11, HAGL Club completed V-League 2023 after the confrontation with SLNA at Vinh Stadium. Some members flew from Nghe An to Buon Ma Thuot airport and then traveled to Ham Rong Center (Pleiku City) by 4-seater car, including assistant Duong Minh Ninh, striker Paollo Oliveira and doctor Dao Trong Tri.

HAGL Club's CEO, Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh, said that Mr. Duc has directed HAGL Club to proactively support and arrange the best funeral for the members who unfortunately had an accident. HAGL Club will coordinate with the family to take care of them. Initially, the club will send two groups to bring two Vietnamese members, coach Duong Minh Ninh and doctor Dao Trong Tri, home to arrange the funeral. "In the case of striker Paollo, because he is a foreigner, the club will have to wait for the completion of the required procedures and support his wife to take this player home in a thoughtful manner," said Mr. Tan Anh.

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporters from the scene, Lieutenant Colonel Ksor H'Bo Khap, Deputy Director of Gia Lai Provincial Police, said the accident was very serious and authorities were investigating to clarify the cause.

After the accident, the Vietnam Football Federation, former head coach of the Vietnam national team Park Hang-seo, football teams and fan groups also sent condolences to HAGL Club and the families of the victims.
