Storm eye in Ha Tinh - Quang Tri
Updated at 2:00 p.m. on August 30 from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of storm No. 6, many meteorological stations at sea (islands) recorded strong winds such as Bach Long Vi level 7 gust level 9, Co To level 7 gust level 8, Hon Ngu level 6 gust level 9, Con Co level 6 gust level 8.

On land, in Do Luong (Nghe An province), the wind gusted to level 10, in Hoanh Son (Ha Tinh province) and many other places, the wind gusted to level 7, causing the risk of tree branches breaking, roofs being blown off, and danger to boats. The provinces from Nghe An to Da Nang city had heavy rain, with some places experiencing rainfall exceeding 200mm.
At 1:00 p.m. on August 30, the storm center was located in the coastal area of Ha Tinh - Quang Tri, with the strongest wind at level 8, gusting to level 10-11, moving west at a speed of 20-25km/hour.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that in the coming hours, the storm will move in a West-Northwest direction, enter the mainland of Ha Tinh - Northern Quang Tri and weaken into a tropical depression, then into a low-pressure area in the Central Laos region.
Vietnam's Meteorological Agency continues to warn of heavy rain lasting from the afternoon of August 30 to the end of August 31, in which Thanh Hoa - Quang Tri will have 100-220mm of rain, some places over 400mm; the midlands and the Northern Delta will have 50-120mm of rain, some places over 250mm.
Urgent dike protection in North Central region
On the afternoon of August 30, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep signed an official dispatch to the People's Committees of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces requesting immediate implementation of measures to ensure the safety of the dike system in the context that floods on rivers may reach alert level II to alert level III from August 30.

According to the directive, localities must review and implement dike protection plans, prioritizing the protection of key dike points, handling locations where incidents have occurred but have not been resolved, and inspecting unfinished dike projects. At the same time, patrol and guard forces must be tightly organized and strictly implemented according to regulations to promptly detect and immediately handle incidents that occur.
The Ministry also requested these localities to closely monitor the development of flood levels on river banks, regularly update the dike situation and promptly report incidents to the Department of Dike Management and Natural Disaster Prevention for direction and coordinated response measures.
