Heavy rain from the evening of August 29 to August 30 caused landslides on some hillsides in Thanh Son village (Mai Hoa commune), obstructing traffic. To ensure the safety of the people, local authorities have arranged for forces to be on duty and posted signs prohibiting traffic. Warning signs have also been posted at vulnerable locations prone to landslides in Thanh Son village (Mai Hoa commune) so that people can proactively avoid risks. Mr. Le Thanh Nghi - Secretary of the Mai Hoa Commune Party Committee informed: "The prolonged heavy rain caused landslides on some hillsides in the area, hindering traffic as well as the safety of people living nearby. The locality has directed forces to urgently clear fallen trees, put up warning signs and be on duty regularly to ensure safety."
A landslide on the hillside caused a large amount of rock and soil to fall near the house of Mr. Nguyen Duy Dung in village 4 (Mai Hoa commune).
The spillway area of Tan Hung village (Mai Hoa commune) was completely cut off by flood water. The overflow bridge in village 1 (Mai Hoa commune) has high water levels, local authorities have banned people from traveling to ensure safety.
Some main roads in Yen Du village (Mai Hoa commune) were cut off by flood water, making it impossible for people to travel. Flood water flooded into a livestock barn of a household in village 1 (Vu Quang commune). Vu Quang commune authorities also supported Mr. Nguyen Van Lam's family (village 6) to evacuate to a safe place, due to the rising water level of Ngan Truoi river. In Duc Quang commune, there are currently 87 flooded households. In Phuc Trach commune, as of the afternoon of August 30, although the rain gradually decreased, the water continued to rise rapidly, causing flooding and isolation in Kim Son village, Phu Le village, Tan Dua village (old Huong Trach), Rao Tre village, village 1 (old Huong Lien), village 6 (old Phuc Trach)... (In the photo: functional forces pulling boats to support people in the flood). Also in Phuc Trach, more than 25 hectares of rice and more than 50 hectares of grapefruit were flooded. Currently, the authorities are trying to help people harvest grapefruit to "escape" the flood. Regardless of hardships and difficulties, the commune police, militia, local forces in the hamlets and officials of Phuc Trach commune supported people in harvesting grapefruit, minimizing damage in the context of heavy rains and floods.
In Huong Do commune, the water rose rapidly, causing many roads, crops and orchards to be submerged. The forces quickly evacuated 20 households to safe places; security guards were stationed at deeply flooded areas to warn people. Many corn fields in Huong Do commune were in the flowering stage and were flooded. Flooding is also occurring in many villages in Huong Pho commune. Pho Cuong and Thuong Thach villages are isolated due to flooding. Local people are trying to raise their belongings in their homes and in the village cultural houses to minimize damage. In addition, in low-lying areas, authorities have put up warning signs and evacuated some households at risk of flooding and landslides. Ha Linh Commune - the "flood center" currently has 11 residential areas that are cut off and isolated; some households have water entering their houses. Local authorities have come to households, especially single-parent and elderly households, to help move their belongings to higher ground... ... and at the same time proceed to clear the flow.... ... mass organizations in Ha Linh commune are participating in supporting people to harvest grapefruit. Localities are also closely following weather developments and the reality in the area to promptly deploy the next response steps.
Floods on the Ngan Pho River are also rising rapidly.
