On July 22, Phong Tan Commune Police handed over Nguyen Van Ben (49 years old, residing in Phong Tan Commune, Gia Rai Town, Bac Lieu ), along with related evidence to Gia Rai Town Police to continue investigating the act of property theft.

Accordingly, at around 2:00 p.m. on July 19, Phong Tan Commune Police received a report from a resident about discovering many D6 diesel engines (often used by residents to pump water into shrimp ponds) in front of Ben's house, suspected to be counterfeit goods.
Upon receiving the report, Phong Tan Commune Police quickly investigated, verified and determined that the above diesel engines were stolen by Ben. Searching Ben's house, the police seized 6 D6 diesel engines, 1 6HP diesel engine, and a number of other related exhibits.

At the police station, initially, Ben confessed that from the beginning of 2023 until now, he had successfully committed 12 thefts in the two communes of Phong Tan and Phong Thanh, in Gia Rai town. The stolen assets were mostly D6 diesel engines. Ben's trick was to take advantage of the dark night, when people left the machines outside the shrimp ponds but no one was watching, Ben sneaked to steal water pumps and then sold them for personal expenses.
Gia Rai Town Police are continuing to investigate and handle property theft cases committed by Nguyen Van Ben.
