As a literature teacher, H'oát always tries to innovate teaching methods to improve the quality of teaching, applying information technology in lectures to help students grasp the core knowledge of the lesson, avoiding boredom. In addition, teacher H'oát also researches and has many practical teaching and learning initiatives such as "Some ways to teach grade 8 literature to create excitement for students according to the orientation of developing capacity"; "Solutions to avoid boredom in literature lessons for students during the Covid-19 epidemic".
In particular, the project "Solutions to contribute to raising awareness for students in preserving and transmitting the beauty of M'nong folk songs at Luong The Vinh Secondary School" won the A prize in the Provincial Science and Technology Competition, the Encouragement Prize in the National Science and Technology Competition for the 2022-2023 school year and effectively applied in practice. Specifically, previously only 3% of students but now over 51% of students in the area have knowledge of M'nong folk songs.
According to Ms. H'oắt, the knowledge she gained in the classroom as well as in society during her university years helped her understand and be proud of the traditional cultural values of the nation in general, and the M'nong ethnic group in particular. These cultural heritage values, if preserved and promoted, will bring many benefits to the community.
Therefore, after each class, in addition to reading and researching documents, teacher H'oắt also seeks out artisans who are knowledgeable about traditional M'nong culture in the area to learn more about stories, dances, folk songs, etc. On that basis, she offers the most practical conservation solutions.
Under the guidance of teacher H'oắt, the M'nong Folk Song Club was established, attracting a large number of students to participate in its activities. Many students were not M'nong but still actively participated in practicing, memorizing and singing M'nong folk songs with new Vietnamese lyrics.
Student Tran Nguyen Thien Bao said: "At first, I didn't know M'nong folk songs, but thanks to Ms. H'oat's guidance, I now know the meaning of some folk songs with new melodies."
Teacher H'oắt confided: “As an ethnic minority, I was lucky to be born and raised in a family with a cultural tradition and to be able to go to school properly. That helped me gain a deep understanding and awareness of the cultural values of the nation. I hope that students will have the same passion as me. From there, I strive to learn, preserve and teach students so that the beauty of traditional culture will not be lost.”
Teacher Nguyen Thi Hien, Principal of Luong The Vinh Secondary School, said: "Ms. H'oat is not only an enthusiastic, dedicated teacher with many initiatives in teaching and learning, but also dedicated to preserving and teaching M'nong folk songs to students."
