Despite owning a familiar brand and having high recognition among Vietnamese consumers for a long time, recently many businesses have said that they are facing difficulties due to the increasing situation of counterfeit goods, fake goods and intellectual property rights infringement, especially on e-commerce platforms. This situation has caused market share to narrow, greatly affecting the ability of businesses to expand and develop.

Set up a hotline to receive reports of counterfeit goods
That shows that this is a long-term battle, requiring perseverance, determination, as well as close coordination from the central to local levels. "We have now set up a hotline 1900.888.655 to receive reports of counterfeit goods. People can also go directly to the offices of the authorities to provide information," Mr. Nam informed.
Regarding e-commerce, Mr. Nam said: "The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development has invited platforms such as Shopee and Lazada to sign a commitment to coordinate control. In the coming time, we will continue to promote information exchange with industry associations and businesses to improve the effectiveness of inspection and handling of counterfeit goods and goods violating intellectual property, especially in the e-commerce environment."
According to Nguyen Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, transportation control is currently facing many challenges due to the spread of e-commerce on roads, air routes, and sea routes. To overcome this, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development has increased the application of information technology, shared data, and coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to monitor social networking platforms such as TikTok and Facebook, where violations tend to increase.
In addition, specialized software is being deployed to scan and detect violations from sellers. The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development also closely coordinates with businesses to prevent trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement, contributing to gradually improving the market.
In the last months of 2025, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development will continue to coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities to strengthen the direction of market management forces to synchronously and effectively implement this work.
In the first 6 months of 2025, functional forces in Ho Chi Minh City focused on inspecting and handling 7,903 violations.
