Accordingly, based on Decision No. 1025/QD-BCA dated February 25, 2025 of the Ministry of Public Security , including the field of testing and granting driving licenses and the guidance of the Ministry of Public Security on assigning the Traffic Police Department to approve the overall premises of Type 1 and Type 2 Driving Testing Centers and at the same time grant, re-grant and revoke licenses of Type 1 and Type 2 Driving Testing Centers according to the order and procedures prescribed in Decree 160/2004/ND-CP regulating driver training and testing activities, by July 12, the Traffic Police Department continued to grant additional Testing Licenses to 14 more Centers, bringing the total number to 44 Driving Testing Centers qualified to operate according to regulations.
The above task is carried out by the Traffic Police Department based on Article 35, Circular No. 12/2025/TT-BCA dated February 28, 2025 of the Minister of Public Security regulating the testing and issuance of driving licenses; issuance and use of international driving licenses.
All centers are tested for license categories such as A1, A, B automatic, B mechanical, C1. Some are also tested for D2, D, CE...
Class 1 and 2 driving test centers are classified according to regulations on facilities and scope of driving license testing. Class 1 centers have large areas, meeting the requirements for testing and issuing driving licenses for more categories, including trucks and passenger cars.
Type 2 driving test center has a smaller area, meeting the requirements for testing and issuing driving licenses for popular vehicle classes such as motorbikes, cars and light trucks.
