In a recent interview with reporters about the policy of improving the investment and business environment in Tien Giang, Director of Toyota Tien Giang Do Van Trieu assessed that the local government has provided very good support. Specifically, since its establishment, Toyota Tien Giang has always received timely guidance and support from departments, branches and localities. Not to mention, the investment environment in Tien Giang is very potential. After a period of investing and doing business in Tien Giang, we have found that the Tien Giang market is very good and believe that the growth rate will be better in the coming years.

Having invested in Tien Giang for more than 20 years, Mr. Nguyen Van Dao, General Director of Go Dang Joint Stock Company, said that from the general policy on private economic development of the Central Government, Tien Giang province is now responding and doing very strongly. Those moves have breathed new life into the development of local enterprises. What businesses hope for is that this atmosphere will be maintained at a long-term level. Reforming administrative procedures, removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses need to be based on the spirit that the government is a companion rather than a manager for businesses. Looking at it from another perspective, Mr. Huynh Huu Thien, Marketing Director of Minh Hung Tien Giang Co., Ltd. also said that in the context of increasingly deep economic integration, with economic agreements about to take effect, businesses are under a lot of pressure, not just TPP or AFTA. From the perspective of businesses, under the continuous direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, calling for investment, attracting investment, creating investment land for businesses has been given strong attention through the organization of many trade promotion programs, creating a bridge between the provinces of the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, through dialogue meetings between the Provincial People's Committee and businesses, it is an opportunity for businesses to share and find development opportunities.

NEW WIND

Creating an open, transparent and effective investment environment is a long story, with many difficulties and challenges. However, with what Tien Giang has been striving for, it will contribute to promoting the private economy to expand the playing field to a more equal level.

In fact, in recent times, Tien Giang has made good use of its advantages as a gateway to trade of two key economic regions of the country, a gateway to the East Sea of provinces along the Tien River and countries in the extended Mekong sub-region, especially exploiting key transport infrastructure projects in the area when the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway was completed, combined with the inter-regional waterway and road transport system. This has helped Tien Giang become more and more attractive to investors inside and outside the province. However, a more notable point for Tien Giang's private economy was marked in 2016 when the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution 06-NQ/TU on leadership to improve the effectiveness of business support and development. This is considered by the business community as creating a new wind blowing into the province's investment environment and has brought about positive effects.

According to statistics, in just 5 years from 2016 to 2020, Tien Giang province had more than 3,340 newly established enterprises, with a total registered capital of over 20 trillion VND, an average investment capital of 6 billion VND/enterprise, 1.5 times higher than the average scale of the previous 5-year period. One very special thing is that during this period, many large enterprises were present in Tien Giang such as: The project of Advance Tire Vietnam Co., Ltd. with an investment capital of 4,909 billion VND, My Tho City Trade-Service Area (Big C), Cruise Port, Central Plaza My Tho Trade Center... Of course, the number of newly established enterprises in Tien Giang province in recent years has not stopped. Because if only counting in 2024, Tien Giang province has about 900 newly established enterprises.

Looking at it more generally, the private economy has made a positive contribution to the development of Tien Giang. Statistics in recent years also show that the contribution of the private economy to the total GRDP of Tien Giang province is relatively high, averaging over 80% in recent years. This proves that the investment and business environment of Tien Giang has gradually changed in a positive direction, the index reflecting the competitiveness of the province has improved, creating confidence in the companionship and closeness between the government and businesses.
