Muong Bu Agricultural Cooperative, with the support of the Provincial Cooperative Union, has been granted a loan of 600 million VND from the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund to expand production and business effectively. Mr. Vu Dang Ke, Director of the Cooperative, said: Being able to borrow capital with an interest rate of 0.66%/year has helped the Cooperative have more capital to invest in expanding the fruit tree area to 58 hectares; of which, there are 18 hectares of mango, 12 hectares of longan, 16 hectares of jujube, the rest are oranges, grapefruits, jackfruit produced according to VietGAP process. Since the beginning of the year, the Cooperative has harvested and sold 350 tons of various fruits, through a chain linked with the system of supermarkets, domestic wholesale markets and exported to markets in China, Taiwan... The Cooperative has created stable jobs, with an average income of 200 million VND/year for each member.
Established in 2019, Tong Set Agricultural Cooperative, Chieng An Ward has 12 members, producing 20 hectares of coffee intercropped with plums and apricots. Since 2022, the Cooperative has cooperated with Bich Thao Coffee Cooperative to grow and process specialty coffee. Mr. Quang Van Dien, Director of the Cooperative, said: From a preferential loan of 500 million VND from the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund, the Cooperative has purchased fertilizers, renovated and cared for coffee trees, and purchased and consumed fresh coffee berries for households in the commune. In the 2024-2025 coffee crop, the Cooperative purchased and processed nearly 150 tons of fresh coffee berries, produced 30 tons of coffee beans, and earned a revenue of nearly 4 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Director of the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund, said: Every year, the Fund Management Board directs members to review and summarize loan needs according to the list of priority industries of the province. In particular, priority is given to disbursing capital to cooperatives producing high-tech agriculture, associated with value chains; cooperatives with OCOP products, typical rural products; cooperatives operating effectively, participating in the linkage chain. At the same time, assign staff to guide cooperative owners to prepare documents, borrow capital in accordance with regulations and in accordance with needs.
Since the beginning of the year, 11 cooperatives have borrowed capital from the fund, totaling 6.1 billion VND, bringing the total number of cooperatives to 58 with loans of nearly 17 billion VND. The fund has strengthened inspection and supervision of the use of loans; extended the repayment period or had plans to support cooperatives facing difficulties due to natural disasters and epidemics. At the same time, it proposed the Provincial People's Committee to add more capital to facilitate cooperatives in need of loans; and guided and advised cooperatives eligible to access the Central Cooperative Development Support Fund.
Currently, the fund's capital only meets a small part of the needs of cooperatives in the province. The Fund Management Board has proposed that the Provincial People's Committee provide an additional 10 billion VND, raising the total capital of the Fund to 20 billion VND according to Decree 45/2021/ND-CP dated March 31, 2021 of the Government on the establishment, organization and operation of the Cooperative Development Support Fund. Research, adjust, supplement and submit to competent authorities for approval of regulations in accordance with the practical production and business activities of cooperatives and cooperative groups, realizing the credit support policy of the Party and State for the collective economic sector.
