Mr. Choo Pin Ang said that Fedex Express is a subsidiary of FedEx Corp (USA), the world's largest express delivery group. Recently, Fedex Express has cooperated and invested with businesses in the TECS joint venture including Fedex Express, Vietnam Airlines Corporation and Company 41, operating air transport and express delivery activities, located at Tan Son Nhat airport.
On behalf of Fedex Express, Mr. Choo Pin Ang expressed his hope that the Ministry of Construction would support in learning about and discussing the needs and promoting the possibility of cooperation in building warehouses, express delivery and infrastructure connecting to Long Thanh and Gia Binh airports.
In addition, Fedex Express also wishes to learn more about the planning of cargo terminals at Long Thanh Airport, including the express cargo terminal, to help Fedex Express as well as the TECS joint venture in building a business development plan in Vietnam.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan welcomed General Director Choo Pin Ang to work with the Ministry. Mr. Tuan highly appreciated the freight transport activities of Fedex Express in Vietnam. The Ministry of Construction always supports US enterprises to further expand their investment and business activities in Vietnam. Regarding the proposal of Fedex Express, the Deputy Minister assigned the Department of Economics - Construction Investment Management to coordinate with the company's representative to study and make a written proposal.
Regarding the recommendations to upgrade and renovate facilities at Tan Son Nhat airport after 2026, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan said that the Ministry of Construction will closely coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to direct the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to create favorable conditions for Fedex Express and its joint venture partners to conduct business activities in Vietnam and develop plans to ensure the continuous operation of Fedex Express at Tan Son Nhat airport.
Deputy Minister Tuan also welcomed Fedex Express to continue expanding investment cooperation with Vietnamese partners to invest in new airports in Vietnam in accordance with the provisions of law and international treaties to which Vietnam is a member.
