FPT Corporation and Hope Foundation celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory

The program took place from April 26-28, including incense offering to commemorate the heroic martyrs, inauguration of the newly built school, handover of the new Son school, donation of the electronic library, inauguration of public sanitation facilities, etc. The program had the participation of leaders of Dien Bien province and departments, branches and sectors; leaders of Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien Dong district, Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union... On the morning of April 27, the delegation (including 100 leaders and staff from FPT Group, Hope Fund, VnExpress newspaper and 100 students from the Dien Bien Provincial Boarding School) organized a flag procession, incense offering at the Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield and visited the A1 Hill relic. This is a historic hill that witnessed the fiercest battle of the soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army.

The activity aims to commemorate the merits of President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap - the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army and the heroic martyrs - the country's outstanding children, who devoted their strength and blood to create the Dien Bien Phu Victory - "a brilliant golden milestone" in the history of our nation. Inheriting the achievements of the previous generation, the members of the delegation vow to continuously contribute to building the country to become more prosperous and civilized.

On this occasion, the organizers also held a series of inauguration events and handed over new works to students, teachers and people of Dien Bien. Among them is a public works complex including a cafe and a toilet area (for men, women and people with disabilities) appearing for the first time in Dien Bien, located opposite the City Square. The work is designed in harmony and is friendly to nature with bamboo materials covering the exterior of the work. The rooftop balcony is used as an area with chairs to rest, drink water and watch the street from above.

It is expected that in June, a similar public works complex will also be completed at 7/5 Square, with a design inspired by the FPT logo. Together with the free wifi system (FPT-DienBienPhu-Free) previously sponsored, the new project will contribute to helping Dien Bien become an attractive and civilized destination for tourists, especially when the number of international visitors is also gradually increasing. Dien Bien Phu said: “As a historical tourist city, the People's Committee of Dien Bien Phu City is aware that the complex of public works is a legitimate and essential need of the people and tourists, but due to limited resources, many construction items have not been implemented at the same time. After nearly 1 month of construction, the complex of public works in the Dien Bien Phu City Square area has been completed and can be put into service for the people and tourists on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. We hope that in the coming time, Dien Bien Phu City will continue to receive the attention of leaders at all levels and the good feelings and sponsorship support of FPT Group, Hope Fund, and VnExpress newspaper so that we can continue to implement more meaningful projects.” Ms. Truong Thanh Thanh, Founding Board Member, Director of FPT Social Responsibility, shared: “Today, these public complexes will belong to the city, they no longer belong to FPT or the Hope Fund. I hope you will pay attention so that we will not only have the first toilet but also many more to welcome international visitors. We will try to have more places to guide and support after signing with the French Embassy on the “Road of Light” project to create signposts for the city.”

FPT delegation, Hope Fund and locality inaugurated Phinh Giang kindergarten

In the fieldof education , the delegation returned to the source with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to inaugurate two kindergarten classrooms with closed toilets, serving 80 students, mainly Mong people, at the Ban Xa Vua B kindergarten - Phinh Giang commune, Dien Bien Dong district. Previously, these two classrooms were temporarily built from corrugated iron and wooden boards, so they were very hot in the summer and unsafe in the rainy season. The new, solid construction, when put into use, created great joy for students going to school and motivated teachers in the village. On the same day, three newly painted schools were handed over to nearly 200 teachers and students in Dien Bien Dong district (two) and Pa Khoang commune, Dien Bien Phu city (one). These are solid constructions that have faded and been damaged over time and were sponsored to be repaired, repainted, and made spacious and clean. 3 e-libraries were also donated to 3 primary schools, with the hope that more than 750 students here will have the opportunity to access knowledge on an online platform, thereby supporting research activities, improving knowledge and learning quality. Each e-library includes 15 tablets and headphones, Math - Vietnamese - English learning accounts for students from grades 2 to 5. In addition, the delegation also donated many teaching and learning support devices to teachers and students of schools in Dien Bien, including computers, printers, wardrobes, etc.

The total value of funding for projects (2021 - 2024) is more than 10 billion VND. Previously, 5 schools and 29 school toilets were built in Muong Nhe district. Next May, the first information boards in the project in collaboration with the French Embassy will be launched in three languages (French - English - Vietnamese), to introduce the relics and locations according to the developments of the battle 70 years ago, helping visitors better understand the history of the Dien Bien Phu campaign in the field. Also on this occasion, leaders of FPT Group and Hope Fund had a working session with leaders of Dien Bien province and leaders of local departments and branches to discuss digital transformation and education development projects in the coming time. At the same time, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province awarded a certificate of merit to Hope Fund for its contributions to the sustainable development of the province. Hope Fund was established in 2017, is a social fund operating for the community, not for profit, operated by VnExpress Newspaper and FPT Corporation.
