TH Group starts construction of 5,200 billion VND milk project in Far East, Russian Federation

New step forward, raising the level of Vietnam - Russia cooperation

The project was started by TH on May 21, 2024. This is an important milestone in the implementation process of TH Group 's dairy project complex in the Russian Federation, following the success in Kaluga and Moscow provinces.

The project will build a farm with 6,000 milking cows (total herd of 12,000 cows); build a milk processing factory with a capacity of 250 tons/day; and exploit a raw material area of ​​13,000 hectares.

"The first items of the dairy farm - a warm home for 6,000 milking cows in the near future - will be quickly deployed. We are committed to reclaiming the entire 13,000 hectares received from the Primorsky government, ensuring food sources for the cows," said Mr. Ngo Minh Hai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TH Group, at the groundbreaking ceremony.

According to Mr. Hai, by the end of 2027, the milk factory will be operational, 100% of the input materials will be supplied from the farm cluster and officially form a closed production chain applying high technology "from pasture to glass of milk", contributing to the growth of the Primorsky region. In addition, TH Group also grows crops such as alfalfa and soybeans for export to potential markets.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dang Hien, Consul General of Vietnam in Vladivostok, this is the first project of a Vietnamese enterprise in this region, a new development step in the economic investment cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.

"I believe that with the efforts and determination of TH and the love for Russia of Ms. Thai Huong (Chairwoman of TH Group's Strategy Council), the project will bring practical economic value and strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries," said Mr. Hien.

Yakovlevsky District Chief Korenchuk Alexey Alexandrovich said that TH's project is the largest dairy farming project in the Primorsky region, and will create more job opportunities for local people.

Superior thinking, seize the golden moment

TH Group, a Vietnamese enterprise led by Hero of Labor Thai Huong, Chairwoman of TH Group's Strategy Council, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association, - one of the early investors who recognized the potential and opportunities in the Primorsky region.

Every year, TH reclaims thousands of hectares of land, and expects to put all 13,000 hectares of land received into cultivation by 2025.

Since the beginning of 2017, after the official visit to Vietnam and working with TH to introduce the potential of the Far East region by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, TH sent a delegation of experts to survey the Primorsky Krai region. In September 2017, TH became a member of the Mikhailovsky Economic Development Zone (belonging to the Far East Economic Development Zones).

The lands reclaimed by TH have now become vast green areas.

Accordingly, TH received the accompaniment and support of authorities at all levels right from the beginning, from finding and surveying land, guiding and implementing administrative procedures, to preferential policies such as refunding costs for reclaiming long-abandoned agricultural land; refunding costs for purchasing agricultural machinery, etc.

Push back difficulties

According to TH, the project implementation process in Primorsky Krai encountered many challenges because many areas of land had low-lying terrain and lacked infrastructure: electricity, roads, gas, etc. Agricultural land had been abandoned for many years, flooded due to lack of drainage canal system or old canal system was buried, needed to be reclaimed, and dams had to be built to prevent river water from overflowing into production areas during snow melting and flood season.

Mr. Ponomarev Vitaly Stanislavovich, Department of Investment Project Implementation Support of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (KRDV), said that TH Group has been receiving comprehensive support and assistance at all stages from the Ministry for Development of Eastern Russia and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation.

Mr. Ngo Minh Hai affirmed that TH successfully implemented projects in Moscow, Kaluga and continued to start construction in Primorsky Region. To achieve this success, in addition to the capacity and efforts of the investor, there is the participation of the Russian Federation government and localities. In particular, President Vladimir Putin has appropriate policies to awaken and stimulate great potential in agriculture.

"Up to now, barriers are gradually being removed, all difficulties are gradually receding to make way for opportunities," said Mr. Hai.

TH is the largest Vietnamese investor in Russia in agriculture. Since 2016, TH has implemented the project of Dairy Farming and Milk Processing Complex in the Russian Federation when the country was under embargo and lacked milk and milk products. To date, TH has put into use 2 farms with more than 6,000 dairy cows; one farm is under construction in Moscow and a milk factory in Kaluga is under completion.

With the successful experience of the 1.2 billion USD project in Vietnam, TH's projects in Russia apply high technology, science and technology and management science to produce high-tech agriculture and 4.0 agriculture, bringing products of international quality standards, with the most reasonable costs and prices, completely from nature on the land of the Russian Federation.
