On the evening of December 16 (local time), in Tokyo, Japan, the Prime Minister received Mr. Takagi Kuninori, Chairman of the IHW (International Health and Welfare) Medical Group. This is Japan's leading non-profit medical group, including medical universities, hospitals, and welfare organizations nationwide.

Sharing with the Prime Minister, Mr. Takagi Kuninori highlighted the group's cooperation activities in Vietnam, especially training medical students and the plan to build a 200-bed hospital with modern technology in Vietnam.
The Prime Minister affirmed that medical cooperation and training of medical human resources are also priorities in promoting and concretizing the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World that has just been established.
In particular, the Prime Minister appreciated Mr. Takagi Kuninori's sentiments and efforts in promoting cooperation with Vietnam in the health sector and supporting Vietnam in training and developing health human resources over the past years.

The Head of Government also welcomed the IHW Group's plan to implement a project to build a high-quality, Japanese-standard medical examination and treatment facility in Vietnam, which is the right direction. Vietnam supports the project in principle and is ready to create favorable conditions for the project to be implemented smoothly, especially in finding a suitable location, not necessarily in the center of a large city.
In addition, the Prime Minister suggested that IHW continue to pay attention to promoting cooperation in training high-quality medical human resources for Vietnam and increasing scholarships for Vietnamese students at the International University of Health and Welfare under IHW. At the same time, IHW and its partners can participate in and implement high-tech medical research and development activities at the National Innovation Center of Vietnam.
