Taking place over 4 days from May 26-29, the training course equips trainees with comprehensive knowledge and skills on drowning prevention, from water environment monitoring theory, special swimming teaching methods for children, to practicing rescue swimming techniques, handling dangerous situations and artificial respiration.
The class is taught directly by experienced lecturers from Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports, simulating many real-life situations to help students master rescue and escape skills in water environments.
In addition to the professional content, students must also pass a final exam including a 200-meter swim, a 25-meter practical swim to approach and guide a victim to shore, and first aid procedures. Those who meet the requirements will be granted a certificate by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , eligible to teach swimming or work as lifeguards at water amusement parks. These students will be key factors in helping localities continue to train and equip basic knowledge, safe swimming skills, and drowning prevention for grassroots cadres in their localities.
Organizing training courses in Mong Cai and Hai Ha, two coastal localities with many summer sports and tourism activities, is an important preparation step to increase human resources for rescue work at swimming pools, beaches, tourist attractions and water sports and recreational activities, contributing to ensuring the safety of people and tourists when coming to Quang Ninh. This is also part of the program to popularize safe swimming and prevent child drowning that is being widely implemented by Quang Ninh province.
