Focus on completing the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to the set goals

On the afternoon of July 11, comrade Tran Anh Dung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a conference to listen to a report on the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

The conference was held in a combination of in-person and online formats from the provincial People's Committee headquarters to the communes and wards that had not completed the program. Also attending were leaders of a number of departments and branches; leaders of communes and wards in the province.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province has been focused on and achieved many positive results. To date, the province has supported 3,964 households, of which 1,925 households have built new houses; 2,039 households have repaired houses. Construction has started on more than 3,100 households, accounting for 78%.

At the conference, delegates pointed out: this is a large program, with many subjects, implemented on a large scale in a short time; the implementation process still faces certain difficulties and obstacles in reviewing the support list; mobilizing resources; customs and practices; land... leading to more than 850 households belonging to the meritorious people who have not yet started building or repairing houses. Based on the discussion and clarification of the achieved results, difficulties and obstacles, delegates focused on proposing solutions, determined to speed up the implementation progress in the coming time.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Tran Anh Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the results achieved by localities in implementing the program. Emphasizing: The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has profound humanitarian significance and is a particularly important political task demonstrating the concern of the Party, the government and the whole society. When implementing, it has mobilized the combined strength and all social resources, the participation of the entire political system, the business community and all classes of people, contributing to improving the quality of life of vulnerable groups with housing difficulties, including people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs, effectively implementing the goal of sustainable poverty reduction.

In the coming time, he requested departments, branches and localities to focus on strictly implementing the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister and the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee. Strengthen coordination, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, focus on completing the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to the set goals. Request localities that have not completed the review, clarify the causes, focus on leadership, direction, and mobilize all resources to support people with meritorious services in housing difficulties to start construction simultaneously and urge to speed up the implementation progress, determined to complete the support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to the Plan.
