Concentrate resources and promptly deploy emergency projects to overcome landslides.

On October 8, Comrade Chau Van Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the content of the report, proposed handling of recommendations of units on funding sources to overcome landslides and recommendations of cooperatives in the province.

Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Chau Van Hoa directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to monitor and, based on the actual situation, issue a decision to declare an emergency situation and promptly submit an order to build emergency works.

The Department of Finance coordinates to propose and report to the Provincial People's Committee to promptly arrange funding for the project; mobilize all resources to urgently handle landslide incidents according to current regulations.

The Provincial Cooperative Union needs to review, consolidate and improve the quality of operations of existing cooperatives; pay attention to and implement well development support policies, creating motivation for cooperatives to have conditions to develop production and business...

Since the beginning of 2025, natural disasters have caused an estimated property damage of over VND38.6 billion, of which 125 landslides have occurred with a total length of nearly 7,300m. The landslides have greatly affected production and people's lives, especially in densely populated areas along major rivers and canals. Localities have organized and supported damage recovery with a total cost of over VND2.2 billion.

From the results of the actual survey of the landslide situation as requested by the localities, there are 25 communes and wards that need to be considered for financial support to overcome landslides with a total of 39 projects, total landslide length of 4,127m, estimated total cost of over 39 billion VND.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, after the merger of the provinces, the support for localities to reinforce and repair landslides on river banks and coastlines from the Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Fund has not been implemented due to some difficulties and problems arising from the legal basis. The Department of Agriculture and Environment recommends that the Provincial People's Committee consider and approve the policy of pre-payment from the Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Fund for localities to implement. After completion, the settlement work will be organized in accordance with regulations on fund management and use.

At the meeting, the Provincial Cooperative Union also presented the difficulties of cooperatives in accessing State support capital and cooperative development support sources, and requested to be arranged to lease public land to facilitate production and business.
