Fisheries Surveillance Ship KN 201 promptly rescued fishermen in distress at sea.

At 5:00 a.m. on October 18, while performing patrol and control duties in the southern sea area, fishing control ship KN 201 of Fisheries Control Squadron No. 2 received a distress signal requesting emergency assistance from fishing boat BV 99368 TS.

The medical team transferred the injured fisherman to ship KN 201 for first aid.

Upon receiving the information, the KN 201 ship quickly maneuvered. After 30 minutes, the KN 201 ship approached the fishing boat BV 99368 TS and brought the injured fisherman to the ship for emergency treatment. The fisherman was identified as Dao Van Thien (42 years old, residing in Tan Hiep commune, An Giang province). When brought aboard, fisherman Thien showed signs of mild shock, high fever, pale face, severe blood loss due to 3 broken teeth, broken bones and a broken lower jaw, and a deep laceration on the left cheek due to being hit in the face by a fishing line while collecting the net. Assessing this as a serious injury, life-threatening if not treated promptly, the medical team of the KN 201 ship quickly performed first aid.

The medical team gave first aid and bandaged the wound of fisherman Thien.

After first aid, mental reassurance and initial medical care, the victim's health gradually stabilized, blood pressure and body temperature returned to normal. The medical team continued to provide medicine, bandages, fresh milk and instructed captain Dao Van Quynh (residing in Vung Tau ward, Ho Chi Minh City) and 8 crew members on the BV 99368 TS ship on how to care for and bring the injured fisherman ashore for treatment.
