South African golfer unexpectedly wins Rocket Classic 2025

(Dan Tri) - Surpassing many famous names, South African golfer Aldrich Potgieter won the Rocket Classic 2025. This tournament ends on July 1.

On the final day of competition on the morning of July 1, there were 3 golfers who achieved a total score of -22 strokes, including Aldrich Potgieter (South Africa), Chris Kirk and Max Greyserman (both Americans).

The results propelled the golfers into the play-off round, where Aldrich Potgieter took 17 strokes to put the ball in the hole, while Chris Kirk and Max Greyserman each took 19 strokes to put the ball in the hole.

Aldrich Potgieter won the championship. Chris Kirk and Max Greyserman finished T2 (tied for second place).

In T4 position are golfers Michael Thorbjornsen and Jake Knapp (both Americans), each with a total score of -21 strokes.

Meanwhile, former world number two Collin Morikawa (USA) scored -19 strokes, ranking T8. Meanwhile, two-time Olympic bronze medalist Hideki Matsuyama (Japan) scored -18 strokes, ranking T13.
