Chinese media reported on June 15 the passing of actor Truong Anh Tai. He died of old age and poor health on June 14 at a nursing home, without relatives by his side.
Many colleagues and friends mourned and remembered Truong Anh Tai on their personal pages. Fans who knew him also expressed their sadness.
Actor Truong Anh Tai
Truong Anh Tai was born in 1934 and started acting at the age of 16. Possessing a handsome appearance and good acting skills, he participated in many films with many different roles.
In the 1950s, he was as famous as his contemporaries such as Hu Feng and Xie Xian. During his career, he participated in a total of 300 films including: "The Legend of the Condor Heroes", "The Deer and the Cauldron", "The Book and the Sword", "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber", "The Yang Family General", "The Flying Dagger of Little Li"... In which, he played the role of Thai Bach Kim Tinh in the 1996 version of "Journey to the West".
In addition to acting, he was also a voice actor for many films and completely retired in 2007.
Truong Anh Tai was once married to actress Xa Y Phan, the two had two children and divorced in 1969. Some sources say that actress and singer Xa Uyen Uyen is the child of Truong Anh Tai and Xa Y Phan, but the two never acknowledged their relationship as father and daughter. During the last years of his life, Truong Anh Tai lived entirely in a nursing home.
