The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a decision to announce the list of national intangible cultural heritages. Accordingly, the decision recognizes the salt making profession in Thuy Hai commune (Thai Thuy) and the La Van village festival in Quynh Hong commune (Quynh Phu) as national intangible cultural heritages.

Salt farmers in Thuy Hai commune guide tourists through the traditional salt making process.

Salt making in Thuy Hai commune (Thai Thuy) is on the list of traditional handicrafts, not only having the meaning of economic development but also preserving the traditional craft village and culture at the Temple of the Lady of Salt. La Van village festival is on the list of traditional festivals, held annually from the 20th to the 26th of the third lunar month at the national historical and cultural relic of La Van temple, Quynh Hong commune (Quynh Phu). The festival is held to commemorate the merits of the Ly Dynasty's National Teacher - Nguyen Minh Khong with many traditional sacrificial rituals and unique folk games and performances: word-pushing dance, traditional wrestling, tug of war, clay cannons, chess...

Thus, up to now, Thai Binh province has a total of 16 national intangible cultural heritages in the list of traditional festivals and traditional crafts.
