Thailand follows Indonesia in being eliminated, no chance to attend U20 World Cup

After losing 0-3 to U20 Japan, U20 Thailand continued to suffer defeat when facing U20 Korea. The Southeast Asian representative was eliminated early after failing to gain any points in the first two matches of the group stage.

U20 Korea completely dominated the first half. They had 69% ball possession, 10 shots, 4 of which were on target.

Thailand U20 surprisingly scored the opening goal. However, less than 10 minutes after Yotsakorn Burapha scored to put the Thai team ahead, Yoon Do-young equalized for the East Asian representative.

U20 Thailand failed to pass the group stage of the Asian tournament.

In the second half, U20 Korea scored the second goal from Kim Tae-won's shot. The Korean team played safe but still controlled the match. In the final minutes, they scored 2 more goals to seal the 4-1 victory.

Before U20 Thailand, U20 Indonesia was in the same situation. After the first two matches, the team from the archipelago lost to U20 Iran 0-3 and lost to U20 Uzbekistan 1-3.

Failing to pass the group stage of the 2025 AFC U20 Championship, both Thailand U20 and Indonesia U20 have lost hope of competing for a place in the world arena. Only the top 4 teams in the 2025 AFC U20 Championship finals will be eligible to participate in the U20 World Cup taking place in Chile.
