After the break, Aston Villa started the game at a high tempo, taking advantage of Liverpool's lack of stability. They almost equalised in the 48th minute when Matty Cash's close-range header was saved by Alisson Becker. Liverpool responded just a minute later with a close-range finish from Nunez.
The Uruguayan striker did not score but he still contributed to the goal. In the 55th minute, from a corner kick, Nunez headed the ball for Salah to score, raising the score to 3-0.
In the remaining time, Aston Villa tried very hard but could not score any goals. Liverpool rose to third place and is sure to be in the top 4 after this round.
