(HG O ) – On the afternoon of September 22, at the Provincial Conference Center, the Provincial People's Committee held the second scholarship award ceremony for the Pham Van Tra Scholarship Fund of Hau Giang province.
General Pham Van Tra, former member of the Politburo, former Minister of National Defense , Honorary Chairman of the Pham Van Tra Scholarship Fund of Hau Giang province, attended and presented scholarships.
Also attending were Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Vo Thi My Trang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tran Ngoc Hanh, former Director of Can Tho City Police, Deputy Director of the Pham Van Tra Education Promotion Fund of Hau Giang province; Mr. Duong Van Be Hai, Director of Him Lam Can Tho Joint Stock Company, Deputy Director of the Fund; and many leaders of departments, branches, and sectors...
At the scholarship award ceremony, in addition to the 2.8 billion VND awarded, General Pham Van Tra allocated an additional 200 million VND from the Fund's interest income to give to students in the province.

After reviewing, in the 2024-2025 school year, the Pham Van Tra Scholarship Fund of Hau Giang province awarded a total of 2,681 scholarships to students from poor and near-poor households in the province. Scholarships for university students are 2 million VND/scholarship; 1.5 million VND/scholarship for college students; 1 million VND/scholarship for students of all levels (primary, secondary, high school, and continuing education students). The total value of support is 3 billion VND, drawn from the Pham Van Tra Scholarship Fund of Hau Giang province . This year's support budget is double that of the previous school year).
At the Scholarship Award Ceremony, the leaders symbolically awarded 153 scholarships to students from primary, secondary and high schools in Vi Thanh city and students studying at universities and colleges. The remaining scholarships will be delivered to students of each school by the Department of Education and Training as soon as possible.

Imbued with his wishes, we called for and established the Pham Van Tra Education Promotion Fund of Hau Giang province with the desire to promptly pay attention, support, encourage and create conditions for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged students to feel secure in going to school to study.
The Pham Van Tra Scholarship Fund of Hau Giang province was established in 2022, with an initial budget of 30 billion VND. After a period of saving , the Fund will use the interest earned to support poor and near-poor students and students in difficult circumstances.
