On September 23, information from the Can Tho City Youth Union said that the unit coordinated with the Son La Provincial Youth Union to directly visit and give hundreds of social security gifts to people and children in Muong La and Phu Yen districts, Son La province, when their lives were turned upside down due to damage caused by the recent storm No. 3 (Yagi).

Ms. Lu Thi Ngoc Anh - Secretary of the Can Tho City Youth Union - said she sympathizes and shares with the people of Son La province when the storm and flood have caused serious damage to people, houses, bridges and roads.

With a heart of love, Can Tho City Youth Union mobilized union members and youths of the city and Hau River provinces to contribute to Son La province with 40 tons of rice and essential necessities including milk, medicine, books, school supplies, etc. All of these goods will be given to the people and children of Son La province.

"The two districts of Muong La and Phu Yen have received social security gifts that we directly presented. We wish to contribute our part in helping people rebuild after the flood, gradually stabilize their lives, all for the sake of our beloved North," said Ms. Ngoc Anh.

Specifically, Can Tho City Youth Union gave 500 social security gifts, supported 50 million VND to build a suspension bridge in Long Cang village (Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district), 14 gifts for households that had to relocate due to landslides and 30 gifts for children in Na Tra village (Pi Toong commune, Muong La district).

Mr. Phuong Tan Dat - Director of the Student Support Center of Can Tho City - shared that in recent days, when he directly visited households affected by storms and floods, he saw all the difficulties that people are going through.

"Therefore, these meaningful gifts are the sentiments of Can Tho youth who want to support and encourage them materially and spiritually, contributing a small part to help households and students overcome damage after the storm and soon stabilize their lives," said Mr. Dat.
