Since childhood, Khanh has been passionate about making models of ships, boats, houses, etc. close to rural life using materials available at home. In 2019, while practicing social distancing, Khanh made a miniature house model to recreate old life and posted it on social media for fun.
Khanh recounted: “When I posted on social media, I didn’t expect that many people would like the rustic, palm-sized houses and then order me to make them to preserve old memories. Some people even sent me pictures of their old houses for me to recreate as souvenirs. Gradually, I started my business by making houses, village scenes, fishing boats… according to customers’ needs.”

To make the houses, Khanh uses materials such as: plastic bars, cardboard, wooden sticks, glue, paint... with many elaborate steps to create the house frame, walls, windows, items around the house... to make them look exactly like a miniature real house.
According to Khanh, the most complicated and laborious step is making the items to arrange around the house and coordinating the colors to look like a real house with many meticulous details. In particular, the houses ordered by customers with simple details can be completed in 1 day, but houses with many complicated details can take a week, even more than a month.

Khanh said: “The model houses, depending on the size and complexity, will range in price from 1 to 5 million VND. There is a Vietnamese customer in the United States who ordered a complex model house for up to 30 million VND. Among them, many people who are far from home and want to keep the image of their old house as a souvenir have placed orders. Thanks to the many people who know me, every month I have orders to deliver to customers all over the country and many Vietnamese people abroad.”

Currently, Khanh sells his products through Tiktok, Youtube, Zalo channels under the name "Khanh Model". At the same time, through social networks, Khanh not only sells products but also connects with people with the same passion to learn and share start-up experiences.
Up to now, Khanh has sold hundreds of products which are houses and miniature village scenes. From there, Khanh has a stable income to take care of his life.

From the initial simple house models, Khanh can now create many designs and styles according to customers’ needs. In addition to the house, there are also miniature landscapes, human figures, tables, chairs… which are “miniatured” with dimensions of 30cmx30cm or smaller.
Currently, Khanh has over 10 house models, creative riverside village life scenes with unique features that are favored by many customers.

Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dai Dien Commune, Pham Thi Kim Nuong, said that Khanh is currently a member of the local Pioneer Startup Club. In recent times, the Commune Youth Union has regularly organized delegations of members of the local Startup Club to visit and learn from Khanh's creativity and unique way of doing things.
In the near future, the Youth Union plans to coordinate with tourism businesses to organize tours to visit Khanh's model house and other tourist attractions such as Huynh Phu ancient house, Sau Dau green trees... At the same time, it will display model house products and village scenery in the Dai Dien Commune Youth Union Congress to introduce and promote products and contribute to spreading Khanh's creative and entrepreneurial spirit to union members and youth in the locality.
